The Neo Geo is unique. Unlike other systems where you extract the BIOS, the RetroArch cores (such as Final Burn Neo and MAME) require the BIOS to remain inside a ZIP file.

Certain complex cores require their own sub-folders inside the system directory. For example, Nintendo DS (DeSmuME) files often need to sit inside a folder named bios , and PS2 files must sit inside a folder named pcsx2 . Extract the archive on your computer
You do not need to boot a game to check if your BIOS pack is working. RetroArch has a built-in verification tool that scans your system folder and reports what is missing. Open and go to Main Menu . Select Load Core .
