The ALi RS-232 Upgrade Tool is a lightweight Windows utility. It forces firmware installations when standard USB or Over-the-Air (OTA) updates fail. It is primarily used to fix "bricked" Set-Top Boxes (STBs) displaying errors like "ASH," "ON," or stuck loops.
Connect the receiver to the PC using an RS232 null-modem cable while the receiver is powered OFF .
If the device no longer boots:
: Enables flashing firmware even when the receiver is stuck in a "boot loop" or showing "ON" on the front panel.
